Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Ankara would not allow anyone use Turkey for its political purposes and is committed to previously announced sanctions to be imposed against France.
“We will impose sanctions stage by stage. We will wait and follow the developments,” he said on Tuesday addressing the members of ruling Justice and Development parliamentary group.
His remarks came after the French Senate adopted late on Monday the bill criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial.
Erdogan also labeled the bill as a manifestation of “racism, discrimination and injustice” expressing hope that France will correct the mistake.
