According to experts at the World Resources Institute, Armenia has a “medium to high” level of water stress, which corresponds to the use of 20-40% of available water resources.

Global water stress is the proportion of water withdrawn for industrial, agricultural, or domestic use relative to available resources.

Armenia currently ranks 48th in the ranking with a coefficient of 2.99.

However, by 2050, the level of water stress will rise to “high.” This means that by that time, Armenia will use 40-80% of its available water resources with a coefficient of 3.4. The country will rank 45th in the world.
