In the draft budget for 2026, the Azerbaijani government has envisioned 8.815 billion manats—US$5.12 billion at the current exchange rate—for defense and national security expenditures.

According to materials posted on the website of the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan, defense and national security expenditures will account for 21% of all state budget expenditures in 2026.

In the state budget of Azerbaijan for 2025, defense and national security expenditures are planned at 8.555 billion manats—US$5.032 billion at the current exchange rate—or 20.7% of all expenditures.

Thus, in 2026, Azerbaijan's defense and national security expenditures will increase by 3% compared to 2025.
