Following the completion of the diplomatic mission of Iranian ambassador to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani and his farewell meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, news disseminated about the appointment of Khalil Shirgholami as Iran's new ambassador to Armenia, reports Tasnim News Agency.

Shirgholami is currently the Deputy Director for Research and Analysis at the Institute for Political and International Studies of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
