European Union (EU) leaders will discuss specific initiatives—including a "drone wall"—to strengthen the bloc's security at their Copenhagen summit, a European official said, Politico reports.
According to the source, this meeting was prompted by alleged violations of EU airspace by Russia.
An informal summit of EU leaders will be held in the Danish capital on Wednesday.
The “drone wall” is a joint initiative of Germany, Poland, Finland, and the Baltic states, and aims to deploy a multi-layered system of monitoring equipment and automated systems to protect against drones along the borders with Russia. The project is currently in the development and prototype selection phases.
