Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan are in the spotlight of the European Union and European intelligence services, which are seeking to undermine their statehood, Viktor Vodolatsky, first deputy chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, told TASS. He made the remarks while commenting on the unrest in Georgia’s Tbilisi amid the country’s municipal elections.

“For them [i.e. the EU and European intelligence agencies], any post-Soviet state is an element to be destroyed — a means of erasing existing human values and deep historical roots. Their objective is to sever, blur all of that, turning any state in the post-Soviet space into a herd. Therefore, Armenia and Azerbaijan will be subjected to the same actions that once caused Ukraine to ‘slip,’” Vodolatsky said.

He added that the EU is pursuing a similar policy toward other countries that are “currently at a crossroads.”

According to him, Ukraine and what happened there serve as a model for these countries.
