Belgium’s position is well known: it supports stability and peace in the South Caucasus, and the progress achieved in Washington on August 8 with the signing of this agreement is seen as an opportunity to create a new and more positive discourse, Belgian ambassador to Armenia Eric de Muynck told a press conference Thursday.

Connectivity and communication are naturally very important in the region and will create great potential for development both for the region and for Armenia. Since we are speaking about the economy, it will also provide an opportunity for economic diversification. Therefore, the developments are very positive. Belgium is pleased with these developments, and hopes they will yield positive results, too, added the Belgian ambassador to Armenia.
