The interests of Russia and Azerbaijan coincide in many respects, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during his meeting Thursday with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

“Our interests, our mutual interests coincide, and are very close in many domains,” Putin said.

Also, the Russian leader noted Aliyev’s “contribution” to the development of humanitarian ties between the two countries, and emphasized that Russia will do everything possible to maintain the dynamics of its developing relations with Azerbaijan.

In addition, Putin expressed hope that cooperation between the two countries will continue in the spirit of alliance.
