French President Emmanuel Macron has promised that the jewels stolen from the Louvre will be recovered.

“The theft at the Louvre is an attack on the heritage we value because it is part of our history.

We will return these works, and those responsible will be held accountable. All measures are being taken under the direction of the Paris prosecutor’s office.

The ‘New Louvre Renaissance’ project, which we launched in January, includes strengthening security measures. It will serve as a guarantee for the preservation and protection of what constitutes our memory and our culture,” he wrote on X.

Earlier today, unknown individuals on a scooter carried out a daring raid on the Louvre Museum in Paris. According to media reports, they allegedly stole jewels belonging to Napoleon Bonaparte and his wife, Empress Eugénie.
