On October 19, U.S. President Donald Trump departed Palm Beach, Florida, for New York under heightened security after a hunting tower was discovered near the airport from which the Air Force One landing area could be observed, Fox News reported.

According to the channel, for security reasons, the president boarded the plane using a small staircase. Unlike usual practice, he did not speak with journalists on the tarmac.

Earlier, the U.S. Secret Service had discovered a hunting position near the airport that provided a view of the Air Force One landing zone. A law enforcement source told Fox News that the position had likely been set up “several months ago.” The FBI is investigating the incident, and no information about potential suspects has been released.

In 2024, Trump survived two assassination attempts. The first occurred at a campaign rally in Butler in July, when a sniper’s bullet grazed his ear. In September, a radical pro-Ukraine supporter opened fire near Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence. In December, a House select committee report held the Secret Service personnel and leadership primarily responsible for failing to prevent the first assassination attempt.
