U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he will visit China next year.

“I’ve been invited to China, and I plan to go early next year. We’ve already made all the arrangements,” Trump said, according to Reuters.

“I think China treats us with great respect. They are paying us huge amounts of money in tariffs,” the U.S. president emphasized.

“China is paying 55%, and starting from November 1, if we don’t make a deal, they will pay 155%,” Trump said, as reported by Hindustan Times.

He reiterated that he will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea.

“We have very good relations. In a few weeks, we’ll meet in South Korea and see what we can do. I think we’ll work on something that will benefit both countries. I believe we’ll reach a very good trade agreement. Perhaps both of us will be satisfied,” Trump stated.

Trump also said that the United States could threaten Beijing “with airplanes,” referring to a possible export control on aircraft sales.

“I think we’ll make a deal. They threatened us with rare earth metals, and I threatened them with tariffs, but I could threaten them with many other things—for example, airplanes,” he said.

Recently, Trump imposed 100% tariffs on China after Beijing introduced new export controls on rare earth metals.

“I think we’ll be fine with China. In my opinion, we’ll settle the issues with Taiwan. I don’t see anything happening,” Trump told CNN.
