U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a phone conversation today with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to discuss next steps following the October 16 phone call between Presidents Trump and Putin, the U.S. State Department announced.
The Department emphasized the importance of upcoming meetings as an opportunity for Moscow and Washington to cooperate on advancing a long-term settlement of the Russia–Ukraine conflict, in line with President Trump’s vision.
