The 224-kilometer Kars–Igdir–Aralyg–Dilidzh railway, whose foundation was laid in August, will become an important part of the Zangezur Corridor, Turkish Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Osman Boyraz said during the panel “Middle Corridor: From Reliability to Efficiency” at the 5th Tbilisi Silk Road Forum.

According to him, the Zangezur Corridor and the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway will not be alternatives to each other but will complement each other.

The deputy minister noted that Turkey will continue efforts to fully realize the potential of the Middle Corridor.

O. Boyraz also added that the implementation of digitalization and a “single window” system will make the route more attractive.
