YEREVAN. – The official statistics have publicized Armenia’s 2011 economic activity index.

In line with this, the country’s economic index for 2011 started and finished with 106.1 percent.

In Armenia’s export sector, brandy, electricity, and mining comprise the absolute majority.

In Armenia’s 2011 GDP, the added value makes up 88.4 percent, and the rest are the product taxes.

In the GDP, industry’s share is 12.9 percent, trade’s share is 13.1 percent, whereas that of restaurant and hotel business does not even make up one percent.

The GDP discrepancies have become alarming since a long time. And the inaccuracies in export, and the huge negative balance in foreign trade are perilous, too.

Also, the small share of industry and agriculture cannot be justified by any reasoning.
