Turkey has offered its venue for a potential Russia–U.S. summit and believes that dialogue is useful for ending the conflict in Ukraine, said President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

“Once again, the importance of Turkey—or Istanbul—in envisioning peace has been demonstrated. We are ready at any moment to host such a meeting. It is unfortunate that the meeting in Budapest did not take place. We believe that any dialogue is useful for ending this war. We have advocated this from the very beginning, worked on it, and highlighted the possibility of a just peace. We have good relations with both sides and are a country trusted by both. This gives us an advantage on the path to peace, and we intend to use this situation for the benefit of humanity,” Erdoğan told journalists on the plane returning from a tour of the Persian Gulf countries.
