The number of civilians killed during the Rapid Support Forces’ (RSF) raid in El Fasher city on October 26–27 may be higher than the two thousand estimated by the joint Darfur protection forces, according to the Sudan Doctors Union, Akhbar al-Asr reports.

According to medical experts, inaccuracies in previously published estimates may be due to the chaos and RSF operations, which confiscated phones from civilians and prevented media from disseminating information about the situation in El Fasher.

The Humanitarian Research Laboratory at Yale University has pledged to provide convincing evidence, including satellite images and videos, of mass killings in the city.

El Fasher has been under siege by the RSF for more than a year.
