Ever since the fall of the Ottoman Empire, everything the West has done in the Middle East has been wrong, US ambassador to Turkey and special envoy for Syria Tom Barrack has said, Yeni Safak daily of Turkey reports.

Barrack also stated during the Manama Dialogue conference held in Bahrain that everything the West has done in the Middle East ever since the fall of the Ottoman Empire has been wrong.

What works, he added, are the benevolent monarchies.
