In the document on strategic partnership signed between Armenia and China, there is a reference to the Crossroads of Peace and the Belt and Road projects, which have substantive overlaps, just as there are overlaps with the Middle Corridor and other projects. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at the international Orbeli Forum being held in Yerevan.

Pashinyan called this the essence of Armenia’s balanced foreign policy, which leads not to a clash of interests but to their complementarity.

He noted that although partner countries initially expressed concern after the signing of the Washington declaration, over time they began to show interest. The Armenian premier reiterated that as a result of the implementation of the Washington agreements, Iran will obtain a transit route to the Black Sea and in the opposite direction.

“With the implementation of this project, Georgia’s transit capacities will significantly increase in the Black Sea-Persian Gulf direction. In addition, there are discussions that Russia may establish a railway connection with Armenia through the territory of Azerbaijan,” Pashinyan said.
