Judging by new publications, the propagation of hostile attitudes toward Armenians continues uninterrupted in Azerbaijan’s educational institutions. Journalist Javid Ahmedov has posted respective footage recorded in one of the country’s schools.

“Look at this madness in an Azerbaijani school. This is how they brainwash young people. School has become a venue for propaganda, not for education. Students role-play capturing an Armenian and forcing him to say ‘Karabakh is Azerbaijan.’ What a shame for education!” Ahmedov wrote on X.

In another post, the journalist noted that for decades the Azerbaijani authorities have presented themselves as victims, accusing Armenia and thereby justifying repression and injustice within the country. According to Ahmedov, countless families in Azerbaijan have suffered because of police violence and corruption, and, as he notes, a logic has taken root in society: “Don’t blame me for stealing; blame the Armenians.”

Javid Ahmedov emphasizes that if hatred toward Armenians weakens in Azerbaijan, the government will lose its main propaganda tool. This narrative redirects public anger outward, enabling corruption and authoritarianism to operate unnoticed in the country.

State hate did not begin with the “Victory Park.” It was expressed much earlier, when Ramil Safarov, who killed an Armenian officer with an axe, was welcomed as a hero. The park was built with the same logic: with helmets of the dead and racist mannequins for children. This means being deprived of humanity, Ahmedov noted.
