A bilateral meeting took place between the parliamentary delegations of Armenia and Azerbaijan Tuesday, on the margins of the 23rd Autumn Meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Istanbul, Turkey.
The meeting was held following the agreement reached between the speakers of the parliaments of Armenia and Azerbaijan during the discussions on October 21 in Geneva, Switzerland, the National Assembly of Armenia informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.
During the meeting, the positive role of the Washington Summit was noted, and the parties exchanged views on the agreements achieved, the next steps toward strengthening peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and the importance of the parliamentary support for this process in both countries.
The role of parliaments in implementing confidence-building measures between Armenia and Azerbaijan was touched upon, too. In this connection, the parties underscored the maintaining of constructive dialogue between parliamentarians within international organizations.
