Israel hopes, in cooperation with the United States, to put an end in the near future to the rule of the radical Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip. This opinion was expressed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as he commented on the adoption by the UN Security Council of the draft American resolution supporting US President Donald Trump’s peace plan regarding Gaza.
Through cooperation with the United States and with the other countries that have signed on to President Trump’s plan, Israel hopes to swiftly receive the remains of all the hostages who were killed and to begin the process of disarming and demilitarizing Gaza, as well as to end Hamas’ rule in the area, Netanyahu said, noting that the UN Security Council had fully endorsed the US president’s 20-point plan.
According to the Israeli PM, the breakthrough achieved thanks to Trump’s leadership will help steer the region toward peace and prosperity.
“Israel extends its hand in peace and prosperity to all of our neighbors and calls on them to normalize relations with Israel,” added Netanyahu, whose remarks were disseminated by Israel’s foreign ministry.
