Hraparak daily conducted an interview with Armenia’s National Security Council Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan. Below is an excerpt.

“In regard to your meetings in Russia, they were saying that you reached a political agreement there, in connection with a future [Armenian] National Assembly (NA) Speaker’s office.

First, all agreements are reached in our country. And second, I say in all honesty that I do not want to be NA Speaker. I do not want to be MP at all; I am already tired of it, since I have been an MP of all NA convocations.  

But will you head the [ruling coalition’s Rule of Law Party’s parliamentary election] list?

Yes, but this is my final decision. I am happy with my work. My work depends on one person: the country’s President. And we have very good relations. And concerning Russia, I have many good friends there, and we cooperate with them.”
