New opportunities are opening to deepen the trade and economic relations between our countries, visiting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia said this during his meeting in Astana with Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov of Kazakhstan.

“The dynamic we have is not bad, but in reality the potential is greater. We simply have not been able to use that potential because of transport limitations, despite the political will, the desire, and the opportunities. Now new transport opportunities are opening, and I believe those opportunities must be used.

We had the occasion to discuss also with [Kazakh] President [Kassym-Jomart] Tokayev the matter of restoring air communication between our countries, and I would be grateful for your assistance there as well.

I should say—I told President Tokayev about it, too—that in our country there are now active developments in connection with air transportation, but the market is still in the formation phase, and it would be very good here if Kazakh companies showed initiative. Of course, we will also draw the attention of our partners in Armenia to these opportunities.

Overall, there is a good atmosphere—economic, political, and cultural—between our countries,” the Armenian PM added.
