The grain agreement period has ultimately expired. This was stated by Russian deputy foreign minister Sergey Ryabkov in response to a question about Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s intention to discuss extending the grain corridor agreement, reports TASS.

“The grain deal, its period, has apparently, in any case, now passed. Of course, there is the awareness that effective, workable efforts are needed in the field of food security.

The same European Union, which prides itself on its quasi-humanitarian approach to numerous international issues, has in fact simply disrupted the implementation of several agreements that would have helped stabilize the food markets and, most importantly, would have allowed the countries and people living there, who especially need affordable food, to obtain it from Russia,” Ryabkov said.
