I have never given any order to withdraw any Armenian troops from any sovereign territory of Armenia, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told a press briefing Thursday.

He stated that trials are underway regarding incidents during the 44-day war in 2020, and recalled that he himself has also been questioned within the scope of one of the cases.

Pashinyan added that he has been questioned publicly also by the inquiry committee of Armenia’s parliament.

“Moreover, I was ‘investigated’ by the people—the 2021 [parliamentary] elections were that entire ‘investigation.’ My actions have been investigated and can be investigated again. Regarding the 44-day war, there is one thing that no one knows. In your opinion, there is more in the criminal cases than the public knows. That is a misconception,” the Armenian premier said.
