Normalizing of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan is in the interest of the European Union (EU) as well. The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, stated this during a press briefing Tuesday after the sixth meeting of the EU-Armenia Partnership Council, in Brussels.

It is also important to normalize relations between Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Turkey. This is important for connectivity and well-being of the peoples of these countries. The EU is discussing what exactly it can do, Kallas added.

It is important to hold meetings with all partners and raise all issues. The EU held regional forums with representatives of the countries of the region to discuss concrete steps. Often small details matter. For example, the opening of border checkpoints, ensuring connectivity, energy infrastructure, and so on, said the EU foreign policy chief.
