Armenia attaches special importance to expanding the geographical scope of the EAEU’s external economic relations, viewing it as an important factor for further strengthening the organization’s role in the global economy. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting Thursday in Moscow.

“The signing of new free trade agreements not only intensifies dialogue, but also contributes to increasing competitiveness, opening new opportunities for economic growth in our countries.

Another important element of economic cooperation is the transport and logistics sector. Diversification of transport infrastructure can serve as an additional stimulus for the growth of trade. In this context, I would like to note that the positive changes occurring in the region open new opportunities for deepening of economic cooperation.

Unblocking regional communications can become an important factor for expanding regional connections and strengthening economic stability for all countries in the larger region. In this regard, I would like to welcome the decision of the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan [Ilham Aliyev] to unblock the transit of goods being sent to Armenia through Azerbaijan. This is one of the significant achievements in the context of establishing peace and stability in our region,” said the Armenian prime minister.
