Over the past year, mutual trade between China and Armenia has grown by 22.5 percent, which I consider a good indicator, China’s ambassador to Armenia, Li Xinwei, told reporters Wednesday.
He called 2025 a very symbolic year, and recalled that it was this year that he was appointed ambassador to Armenia. “It is a great honor for me to participate in efforts to elevate the relations between our countries to a new level,” the Chinese diplomat said—and referring to the signing of the document on establishing a strategic partnership between the two countries.
Li added that Armenia has joined the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, which is a significant event. Also, he expressed China’s willingness to support Armenia in this process. “I believe this is also a good foundation for the further development of relations between our two countries,” the Chinese ambassador emphasized.
The head of China’s diplomatic mission in Armenia added that the two countries are ancient civilizations and have a rich history spanning millennia. “In a changing world, both countries aspire to development. I am convinced that the peoples of China and Armenia will be able to sense on themselves the results of cooperation between our two countries,” the Chinese diplomat concluded.
