North Korea on Wednesday tested its latest anti-aircraft missiles, the launch of which was watched by the country’s leader, Kim Jong Un, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.

On December 24, the DPRK's Main Missile Directorate tested its latest high-altitude, long-range anti-aircraft missiles under development in the Sea of Japan, the agency reported.

It is specified that this is the first test aimed at evaluating the tactical and technical characteristics of a new high-altitude and long-range anti-aircraft missile system within the framework of the development of North Korea’s air defense technologies.

The launched missiles hit the conventional air targets at a distance of 200 kilometers.

Kim Jong Un congratulated on the success of the test, KCNA added.
