Visible work within the TRIPP (“Trump Route”) project framework will be implemented in the second half of 2026, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced at a press briefing Thursday.

He assumed that the first project in this regard would be the construction of a railway. “In our understanding, the railway should be the first, since the relevant routes have operated in the past,” Pashinyan noted. He did not rule out, however, that the projects for the construction of natural gas and oil pipelines will be implemented earlier than planned.

The Armenian premier announced that the framework for the TRIPP project’s implementation is currently being developed, and Armenia and the United States are preparing to sign the relevant document, after which the next phase of this project will begin.

Pashinyan added that the unblocking of communications in the region is directly linked to the delimitation of Armenia-Azerbaijan borders. The Armenian PM explained that if an infrastructure (railway, natural gas pipeline, oil pipeline, etc.) is to pass through any section, then before the start of construction it is important to clearly record where the state border passes, as this is linked to organizational, economic, legal, and some other matters.
