Azerbaijan intends to use the Georgian route again for transit of cargo to Armenia, Azerbaijani foreign minister Jeyhun Bayramov announced at a press conference on the results of the passing year, APA reports

“We [i.e. Azerbaijan] have received a request from Armenia to sell oil products, and the issue of their transit through the territory of Georgia has arisen,” Bayramov said.

The Azerbaijani FM noted that the transit tariff being applied by Georgia is indeed very high.

“This has raised questions in Azerbaijan, as it contradicts the current practice. The Georgian leadership immediately intervened, and the problem has been resolved. The tariff was agreed between the companies, fully complying with market conditions. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Georgian leadership. This shows that relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia are friendly. I believe the problem has been resolved, and this route will be used again," Bayramov added.
