YEREVAN. – Position of the Armenian side on enriching uranium will carefully be taken into account head of Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM Sergei Kiriyenko told in response to Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent regarding prospects of finding uranium ores.

“There are interesting ores and perspectives. However, it requires additional studying and explorations. Secondly, I approve the Armenian Government’s approach to discuss carefully the projects with people living nearby the ores. It requires serious discussions as people demand absolute guarantees. Besides, not all potentially revealed ores are possible to exploit, sometimes people just do not agree. It is important for us that the joint Armenian-Russian mining company deals not only with uranium exploration but also related minerals, including rare metals. In this case long-termed contracts will be concluded for an effective work,” Kiriyenko said.
