Archbishop Sahak II Mashalian, the Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople (Istanbul) of the Armenian Apostolic Church, on Tuesday met with representatives of local Armenian community organizations.

Mashalian announced that the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism will assist the renovation of the 19th-century Holy Forty Children Armenian Church in the Iskenderun region, which was damaged by the earthquake of February 6, 2023, the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

It was noted as well that with the support of the aforesaid Turkish ministry, a gala evening in honor of renowned Istanbul Armenian opera singer Alis Manukyan will be held in the coming days.
