ANKARA. - Turkish media disclosed some details on ‘new initiative’ for Syria, spoken by the Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
To note, Turkish PM stated on Tuesday that Turkey joins the states against Bashar al-Assad’s regime and intends to prepare ‘new initiative’ for Syria.
Turkey first of all intends to bring together the ‘states-friends of Syria’ included in the League of Arab States. Later, if succeeded in negotiations with those states, to hold an international conference in Istanbul with the participation of UN Security Council and the EU member states to discuss prospects for normalization of the situation in Syria, Turkish Sabah reports.
Turkish FM Ahmet Davutoglu intends to discuss Ankara’s initiative with American administration representatives during his visit to Washington scheduled for this week, Turkish NTV reports.
Deputy Head of Turkish ruling Justice and Development Party Omer Celik confirmed the NTV information on holding international conference on Syria.
