The Armenian Foreign Minister and the US Secretary of State discussed the issue of Armenian captives in the Azerbaijani capital city of Baku. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan announced this during a live broadcast from Washington after his meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project.
Responding to the question of whether the issue of Armenian prisoners being held in Azerbaijan was discussed with Rubio, the Armenian FM stated that both bilateral issues and the prospects of the TRIPP project were discussed.
According to him, “all possible obstacles were discussed, which now do not correspond a bit to the positive trends of peace and cooperation.”
“That is one of the issues,” Mirzoyan added.
And when asked whether this means that possible measures and assistance were discussed, the Armenian FM noted that the issue of Armenians being held in Azerbaijan was discussed.
