About 90 percent of all planned work at the Alican checkpoint on the Turkish-Armenian border has been completed, the authorities of Turkey's Igdir Province informed, reports Anadolu Agency.

The work is being carried out both at the Alican border checkpoint in the Karakoyunlu town of Igdir Province, as well as at the Margara border checkpoint in Armenia’s neighboring Armavir Province.

Within the framework of this project, construction of buildings for customs and other border procedures is being carried out on the Turkish side.

In addition, advertising and information activities have been carried out: billboards and banners have been installed, the aim of which is to familiarize people arriving from Armenia with the city of Igdir and the region in general.

Igdir Province Governor Ercan Turan inspected the work on the ground. He received a detailed report from Karakoyunlu Mayor Fatih Erdogan.
