Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at Thursday’s cabinet session of the Armenian government—and referring to Tuesday’s joint statement in Washington between Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the framework for the implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project.

“Our mood is that here too we must get out of the ‘conflict’ and come already to a normal, an atmosphere and logic conducive to peace. It should be emphasized that this will definitely not happen very quickly either in Armenia or in Azerbaijan. In connection with the import of the same [Azerbaijani] gasoline [to Armenia], they say in Armenia that we are sending money to Azerbaijan so that they attack Armenia with that money; the same talk is in Azerbaijan. I know and I also see that there are comments that Azerbaijan sends diesel fuel and gasoline to Armenia so that tanks and other military equipment are refueled here and attack Azerbaijan. But we must record that in the case of both Armenia and Azerbaijan, this is already talk that does not correspond to today's realities,” Pashinyan said.

“On ​​the other hand, there is no point in blaming people, because the logic, the ‘wheel’ that has been spinning for 35 or more years, cannot be stopped with one ‘brake.’ So we need to be more practical, focus on work, and the practical benefits of peace themselves can do more than just debates on various theses, various doubts or challenges. So, let's devote ourselves to more active work.” he added.

“In essence, new times are opening up, and in these new times we must work in a new and more effective, more consolidated and more focused way to make the most of this historic and turning point opportunity for the development, freedom, happiness and prosperity, health of the Republic of Armenia and its citizens,” the Armenian PM stated.
