YEREVAN. – During discussions over their proportional election lists for Armenia’s upcoming parliamentary elections, when the ruling coalition’s leaders attempted to design common principles for preparing these lists, President Serzh Sargsyan urged them to refrain from including not only businessmen-oligarchs, but also from the clan-family precept, Hraparak daily writes, referring to the information it has received.   

“And he specifically stressed that he will show the first example, as none of his brothers will be in any list, and, also, they will not run in the majority election system either. Those who heard this assessed it as a virtual self-sacrifice,” Hraparak writes.
