Internet access in Iran will be restored no later than Friday, the country’s Vice President for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy, Hossein Afshin, announced.

“The internet [in Iran] will return to normal operation today, tomorrow, or by the end of the week at the latest,” Afshin stressed, according to Fars news agency.

On Sunday, the Google search engine became accessible again to Iranian users after a complete shutdown of the international internet on the evening of January 8, TASS reports.
