A discussion was held in Igdir, Turkey regarding the expected opening of Turkey’s Alican border checkpoint with Armenia, Turkish media report.

The Igdir regional branch of Turkey’s main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) presented a comprehensive action plan to the Igdir Chamber of Commerce and Industry “in connection with the expected influx of tourists after the opening of the border crossing.”

It was emphasized that “an important report has been prepared regarding the opening of the Alican border crossing, which includes provisions for receiving tourists from Armenia and raising service standards.”

The head of the Igdir Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kamil Arslan, stated: “We will work to provide all facilities for incoming tourists. In particular, we will intensify our information activities to help our traders adapt to this process.”
