Spain positively views the progress achieved in the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, following the ceremonial peace agreement signed in Washington on August 8 last year, said the president of the Congress of Deputies of Spain, Francina Armengol, at a joint press conference with the speaker of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, Sahiba Gafarova, APA reports.
“We hope that, if the appropriate conditions are created, this process will culminate in a peace agreement that ends the decades-long Karabakh conflict in the region and opens a new phase of prosperity through cooperation. The principles that must guide this process—international law, sovereignty, and territorial integrity—are shared by both parliaments,” Armengol added.
