Sudan and South Sudan under the mediation of the African Union signed a non-aggression treaty, said former South Africa President Tabo Mbeki.

The agreement specifically mentions that both sides respect each other’s autonomy and territorial integrity and are away from interference in the internal affairs, as well as armed attacks.

President of Sudan Omar al-Bashir noted that there was a likelihood of war between the two states, but at the same time stressed that both wanted peace, ITAR-TASS reports.
