Trade and investments remain an important element of Russia-Armenia relations, said Russian ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin.

"A very important economic component remains in our relations. Russia remains Armenia's leading trade, economic, and investment partner. Companies with Russian participation play a very large—I would say, a connecting—role in the Armenian economy, are among the leading taxpayers of the Republic of Armenia," the Russian diplomat said in an interview with Rossiya-24 television.

Kopyrkin noted that these factors should be taken into account and used.

"It is clear that we [i.e. Armenia and Russia] have always been united and continue to be united by spiritual, moral and cultural ties, interpersonal ties. For example, Russians continue to be the largest tourist contingent in the Republic of Armenia," added the Russian envoy to Armenia.
