Turkey has accelerated work on opening the border crossing with Armenia, the Turkish newspaper Yesil Igdir Gazetesi reports.

The governor Turkey’s Igdir Province which borders Armenia, Firat Tasolar, personally inspected the reconstruction and modernization work being carried out at the Turkey’s Alican border crossing. During the visit, he received detailed information about the current phase of the work.

The Igdir governor noted that the process is expected to be completed in a short time. According to him, the work is proceeding intensively and it is planned to complete the preparations for the border crossing in the near future.

Infrastructure and technical work aimed at bringing this border crossing in line with modern requirements is continuing at Alican.
