Promising investments in Armenia may be a bluff, launched to achieve growth in shares of energy companies. Russian political scientist Alexander Dudchak expressed such a view during a videoconference held by Sputnik Armenia.

To note, this matter is related to the incomprehensible situation surrounding US Vice President JD Vance's statement Monday on cooperation between Armenia and the US in the nuclear energy sector. The Armenian translation of his respective remarks in Yerevan contained the word "investments," while the version posted on the US State Department's website does not contain that word.

According to Dudchak, the current US administration is a master of bluffing, and US President Donald Trump's words have little value—today he says one thing, tomorrow something else.

"Strange amounts of money are mentioned. The question is who will actually pay. It has happened many times when Trump's statements were made purely to make an impression, at least in the short term. This statement may be aimed at increasing the shares of energy companies and that is enough for them. Those investments will not happen," the analyst believes.

"It is important to declare that ‘America is with us.’ But history does not teach, but punishes for unlearned lessons. Once again, they are deceiving. Here, too, Europe promises a visa-free regime. Then they will say that they could not, ‘there is a crisis in the world, figure it out for yourself.’ The issue is not only Armenia, but also that someone can earn something on the share price. But it is sad that an entire nation, a state, is being used as a pawn on a chessboard. We hope that Armenia will not turn into a board, like Ukraine, where a game is being played," the Russian political scientist concluded.
