In practical terms, we got what we expected. But it should also be noted that the atmosphere of the visit turned out to be much more positive than we expected. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this in an interview with the Public Television of Armenia today—and referring to the visit of US Vice President JD Vance to the country.

“I am very happy to record that it was very positively perceived among our society, and this is perhaps an important and expressive image of a balanced and balancing foreign policy, the results of which we see. The economic context of the visit is very important. The visit of the US Vice President, especially the visit of such a bright political figure as JD Vance, puts Armenia in the spotlight of the world. It is very important that the attention of the US investment environment is additionally drawn to the investment opportunities that have opened and are opening in Armenia,” said the premier.

“By publishing these large numbers, the US Vice President demonstrates the great political will of the US to assist in making investments in Armenia. These large numbers must be specified, turned into specific projects, specific addresses. For the first time, we are implementing and will implement cooperation with the US in the defense sector. It is very important to record that all this is the results of the peace agenda,” said Pashinyan.

Recalling that he met with Vance for the first time on February 7, 2025, Pashinyan said that it was of great importance.

“I specially emphasized that my respect for the [US] Vice President tripled, that by the time I arrived in Yerevan from Washington, the US embassy already notified us that the US Vice President had already reported to the US President on the results of the visit, and the necessary instructions had been given. That surprised me greatly. Today we are seeing its results," the Armenian PM emphasized.

And reflecting on the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project, Pashinyan said that now there will be large cash flows.

"Any country wants money to come from abroad and to double, triple, quadruple inside. One unit of investment in a certain sector brings two, sometimes three units of investment. In essence, we are talking about the formation of a new investment ecosystem. The railway is not only the track; it is also the side service, other services, state-of-the-art equipment, etc., not to mention the service of the flow of passengers, goods, services. In addition to the railway, we are also talking about new power lines, new pipelines, cables. That is, here the investment brings investment," said the Armenian prime minister.
