We expect that biometric passports will be introduced in Armenia, starting from the fall of 2027, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced during Wednesday’s question-and-answer session with the government in the National Assembly of Armenia.
Pashinyan added that from that time on, those who have such passports shall have the opportunity to cross the Armenian border without any contact.
"What is needed for this? For this, it is necessary that the United States, which masters these technologies, share these technologies with us. And I discussed this topic with the US Vice President [JD Vance who visited Armenia] yesterday, and I received assurances from our colleagues," noted the Armenian premier.
