The internationally renowned S&P Global agency has revised Armenia's rating outlook to "positive" and affirmed the country’s rating at "BB-," Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed by the Ministry of Finance of Armenia.

This follows a similar improvement of Armenia's rating by Fitch Ratings, which documents the continuous positive chain of international economic confidence formed towards the country.

The revision of this outlook reflects the potential for improvement in the regional situation; in particular, the progress in the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. It is conditioned by Armenia's positive economic growth outlook and the ability to absorb external shocks through a higher level of international reserves and a flexible exchange rate.

According to S&P Global, this rating is based on the consistent fiscal policy of the Armenian government, mitigating risks, and strong foreign exchange positions.

The definition of a "positive" outlook means that there is a high probability of an actual increase in Armenia's rating during the next reviews.
