I am grateful to the relevant bodies of Armenia for the steps taken to resolve the situation with the protests in front of the Iranian embassy in Armenia. Iranian ambassador to Armenia Khalil Shirgholami stated this while speaking with reporters on Tuesday.

According to Shirgholami, people had gathered in front of the Iranian embassy in Armenia and chanted slogans about a change of government in Iran, which is condemnable.

“However, this was a small number of Iranians compared to the total number of Iranian citizens living in Armenia (about 3,000),” added the Iranian ambassador to Armenia.

He reiterated that during the recent events in Iran, attempts were made to drag the country into a civil war, which became a continuation of the 12-day war last year.
