Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, has called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy an “ungrateful person,” Georgia Online reports.

Papuashvili was asked about the adoption of a UN resolution on Ukraine, which was voted in favor by 107 countries, including Georgia. But 51 countries, including the US, China and Hungary, abstained from voting.

“Where was Great Britain when Zelenskyy imposed sanctions on representatives of the Georgian government? In general, he is an ungrateful person, I am not the first to say this. The US president had asked him to show at least a little gratitude. Zelenskyy shows no gratitude towards either America or Georgia. We [i.e. Georgia] support the Ukrainian people,” said Shalva Papuashvili.

“I will remind you once again of Zelenskyy’s shameful statements: he recalled his ambassador to Georgia only because we did not send the Georgians [to Ukraine] to fight and perish. Let them be grateful, but in general, we do not really need their gratitude. We are doing all this for the Ukrainian people, and it is the Ukrainian people who will make the final verdict on Zelenskyy,” added the speaker of the Georgian parliament.
